Plant Trees with SOLV in Troutdale on Sat. Nov. 3!

Brett Lyon writes "Plant Trees and help restore the Beaver Creek watersheds in Troutdale at SOLV’s Team Up For Watershed Health sites on Saturday November 3. Plantings start at 9 am and end by 12 pm.

Beaver Creek is a tributary to the Sandy River just before it enters the Columbia River. Agricultural use and development have led to decreased water quality and aquatic wildlife habitat. Restoration priorities for this 9.1 acre site include increasing vegetation to reduce stream temperature and improving in-stream diversity by adding large wood. Project Partners include City of Troutdale, Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, Friends of Beaver Creek, URS Corporation, Reynolds High School/Natural Resource Academy, Metro, National Forest Foundation, and The Nature Conservancy.

For more information and to register visit the Team up For Watershed Health Website, http://www.solv.org/programs/teamup_watershed_heal th.asp or call Brett Lyon at 503-844-9571 x 332. Event information is found at the very bottom of the page. Put on your boots, grab a shovel, and come dig in! We hope to see you out in your watershed!"
