If you have questions as you place your order, your neighborhood coordinator listed on the web site's "planting schedule" can assist you. Costs of trees vary by neighborhood, depending on the grants Friends of Trees has secured to subsidize the actual $160 cost of the tree planting and follow-up monitoring. All homeowners are required to pay no more than $75 per tree, but donations to cover the remaining $85 in costs are welcome.

If your neighborhood isn't included on the current planting schedule and you want to coordinate a planting, please contact Brighton West at 503-282-8846 ext. 19. Updates to the planting schedule will be posted during the coming weeks. Tree choices with photos and facts are provided as part of the online ordering process. You can also view the selections by clicking on "search our trees" at www.friendsoftrees.org.

Friends of Trees brings people in the Portland-Vancouver area together to plant and care for city trees and urban natural areas. Since 1989, the more than 340,000 trees and shrubs that Friends of Trees has planted in the Portland-metro area have provided increasing benefits as they grow, cleaning more of our water and air and slowing global warming more each year. Our area's increased tree cover, called "the Portland effect," led to national recognition for Friends of Trees last year, including a national community tree planting award at the U.S. Conference of Mayors and The National Arbor Day Foundation's decision to host a national Arbor Day celebration in Portland this April.
