THE COMMUNITY CYCLING CENTER’S BICYCLIST SAFETY MINI GRANTS

The Community Cycling Center’s Bicyclist Safety Mini-Grant Program provides funding to public agencies and non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations to promote the safety of bicyclists in Oregon. Funding is available statewide through a grant to the Community Cycling Center from the Oregon Department of Transportation’s Transportation Safety Division.

Funding is available for projects targeting youth and/or adults, with a focus on projects that incorporate a strong educational element, especially in communities that do not currently have access to bike safety education resources. For communities that currently do have access to these resources, innovative and creative project proposals are highly encouraged.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications must be postmarked by Friday, January 5, 2007.

Application packets, guidelines, and a list of previously-funded programs are available on our website: www.CommunityCyclingCenter.org/minigrants.html.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY CYCLING CENTER

The Community Cycling Center is a non-profit organization in Portland, Oregon with a staff of over 30 youth educators, mechanics, program developers, and administrative employees. Our hands-on Bike Safety Clubs and Get Linked program utilize the successful models of Challenge by Choice and Experiential Education to create a supportive, effective environment for children to learn and grow. Our Create a Commuter program provides fully-outfitted commuter bicycles and safety training to low-income adults throughout the Portland metro area."
