Like a well-placed punch to the gut of the political process, CGW, which is presented by Willamette Week in cooperation with the Bus Project, will knock the hot air out of the classic election-year debate - you know, the ones where people are always quietly sitting and there’s no swearing. Forget tilted stump speeches and baby-kissing: At CGW, candidates must run the gauntlet and risk it all to show potential constituents they’re not just another bad haircut with a sound tax policy. Cheer teams of candidates on as they join in battle to prove their knowledge of all things Portland; learn how your favorite candidates really handle pressure as they are grilled by a hardened panel of skeptical Portlanders; stand in awe of candidates’ myriad unexpected talents (and, yes, they do have talents).
