City Council and the JTTF (Joint Terrorism Task Fo

Betsy Toll writes "Wednesday morning, December 22, at 10:30 am, the Portland City Council will decide whether or not Portland will continue to participate in the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Commissioners Erik Sten and Randy Leonard have raised serious questions to whether or not Portland should renew its participation in this program. JTTF investigations have run roughshod over American civil liberties in Portland and around the country. This meeting on Dec. 22 is a civic opportunity for Stumptown residents to hear the debate and let Commissioners know their feelings about secret police and FBI secret investigations."
