Heather has created and maintained this traveling art show, by the continued support of many of the generous members of the freecycle movement. Almost every work in this show has been created from free, recycled materials gifted by the members of freecycle. Heather in co-operation with the other sponsors listed in this release; want to give something back to the community and to express their deep gratitude for the continued support of the local communities, and of our local environment. There will also be special sale prices on the art left in this portion of the show; prices will be slashed in some cases, to half of the gallery retail prices. There will be magical, live music for all that attend. Music will be provided by Art Viloria and Joey Bradford two members of the local band Colores Del Alma as well as free food, wine, cider, and coffee. This party is completely free, with no obligation to purchase anything to participate. We just want to have some fun.
Two local Portland friends, James Kue and Neng Moua, own the Mo-Joe. The place opened three months ago, and has already hosted a fun, Free Scary Japanese Movie Night, and is being very well received for the incredible interior design, the great coffee (Caffé D’arte brand) and treats, the always free Wi-Fi, and their enthusiastic support for the local art, music, theater and small business communities. As the newest coffee lounge in SE Portland, The Mo-Joe House is coffee as a lifestyle, setting a new standard for the coffee lounges of the future.
This is a great opportunity to show the public at large that not only can we reduce the local landfills by recycling our unwanted items to other people who will find value in them, but also what a true “gifting” economy can do in a very powerful way to change the way we perceive and react to “commerce and capitalism” in our society. It’s also a great way to meet like-minded people in your community, and have a fun night. Please help us to educate the general public and illuminate the hard work of the 12,000+ members of the Freecycle Portland and Washington County Freecycle movement as well as the brave business owners and consumers who understand and support this effort.
